In this section, you’ll find underpads in different brands, material, sizes and absorbency that fit any incontinence needs.
Incontinence underpads are specially made to deal with the most common types of incontinence that affects women.
- Stress Incontinence. This refers to bladder leakage due to sneezing, laughing, coughing, heavy lifting or running. It leaks when a physical activity puts stress or pressure on the bladder.
- Urge Incontinence. This refers to a sudden urge to urinate. Also called overactive bladder, the bladder involuntarily contracts which causes some urine to leak.
These pads can address urine leaks and are far better in doing the job than menstrual pads.
Can I use it for heavy incontinence? How about bowel leakage?
Incontinence underpads are not ideal for people with overnight incontinence or heavy incontinence. This is only suitable for adult women who need little protection from bladder leakage. These pads are not reliable enough for bowel leakage and not highly absorbent to provide complete protection from bladder leakage.
How is an underpad different from maxi pad?
Unlike typical maxi pads for menstruation, incontinence underpads absorb urine effectively and have unique features compared to maxi pads. Menstrual discharge comes out slowly and is heavier while urine is light but comes out in large volume. These are two completely different conditions that require the use of different absorbent material, odor-controlling components and absorption technique.
